BUSINESS OBJECTIVES
EClient needed a B2B web solution, target customers were tour operatorsTour operator needs:
- Replace paper based training with multimedia based e-learning and online exams.
- Make it less expensive and time consuming and more effective than instructor-led training.
- Allow corporate training directors, HR managers and others to keep track of the course offerings, scheduling, progress tracking and final results.
- It can lead to better scheduling of Lessons and a stronger grasp of the subject.
Travelers needs:
- Traveler should get A to Z information for traveling such as major destinations and major festivals of that destinations, major events happening and major shopping location available at the specified destination
- Traveler should be able to select a wide range of packages available or should be able to create their own tour plan using an interactive map and sent it to all the tour operators.
CURRENT SYSTEM AND CHALLENGES
Some of the key challenges faced during the course of the project were:- Users are allowed to search using destination names and keywords but if the key words existed in packages description, destinations description, shopping location description, festival description and events description the result retrieval and display which should include all the results which matched was a major challenge
- Users had to plan their tour using an interactive map ie user should be able to draw line from one location to another which he/she has chosen and after completion most optimized path should be displayed.
WAIRS SOLUTION
- The search results are retrieved using full text search and results are displayed in such a manner to meet all the challenges.
- Wairs proposed to use client side scripts to draw line over an image map and shortest path algorithm for finding the best optimal path for the traveler
